Concrete LYFE was founded by Tony Galvao in 2022, but the work behind it began years earlier.​

 

Tony founded Concrete LYFE because he believes in investing in people. Sometimes, one opportunity, one experience, or one person showing up can make a lasting difference. He wants young people to experience more, discover what they’re capable of, and believe more is possible for their LYFE.

Tony’s dedication to community is rooted in his own experiences and those of his friends growing up. Those experiences inspired him to create something different for the next generation, more support, more opportunities, and more possibilities. Through his community work with other organizations, Tony saw how often resources failed to reach his neighborhood. He wanted to help close that gap, bringing resources and meaningful experiences directly to the people who needed them. That became his “why”: giving back to the community that shaped him and helping the next generation see what is possible.

• Hero Among Us Award from the Boston Celtics for his work with youth.

• Community All-Star Award from the Boston Bruins for his commitment to young people and community.

• Citation from the Governor of Massachusetts recognizing his contributions to youth and community.

• Recognition from the City of Boston for Concrete LYFE’s youth internship program.

• Phillips Brooks House Association Community Award from Harvard recognizing his social justice and DEI work.​​
